BILLINGS —  Montana State Billings remained on top of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference baseball standings Saturday after splitting a doubleheader with Western Oregon University at Dehler Park.

The visiting Wolves won the first game 23-10. The Yellowjackets won the second contest 7-3.

MSUB is now 19-9 in conference play and 19-17 overall. WOU is 18-10 and 15-10.

In the second game, Jalen Garcia, Matt Dillon and Sam Powers all homered for the Yellowjackets. All were solo shots.

Wyatt Setian, Garcia and Powers finished with two hits apiece. Setian had two doubles. Garcia also doubled.

Kevin Mackintosh (4-3) pitched a complete game for MSUB. He struck out five and allowed six hits over seven innings.

The Wolves and Yellowjackets combined for 33 runs on 31 hits in the first game. WOU had two six-run innings.

Collin Runge, Jared McDonald and Griffey Halle all homered for the Wolves. McDonald wound up with five RBIs.

Setian homered for MSUB. He knocked in four runs with his three hits.

MSUB and WOU combined to use seven pitchers.
