MILES CITY — No. 17-ranked Miles Community College improved its season record to 29-0 Thursday night by beating Dawson Community College 68-56 in MonDak women's basketball at Kailey Gymnasium.
The balanced Pioneers, 13-0 in conference, were sparked by five players scoring in double figures.
Lucia Salazar provided 12 points and five rebounds to lead the way. Teammate Dakota Dosch contributed 10 points, five rebounds and five steals.
Claire Borot finished with 11 points for MCC. Patrycja Jaworska collected 10 points and handed out six assists. Bre Moea'i also scored 10 points.
The Pioneers were in command 30-22 at halftime, but had trouble pulling away.
MCC's defense came up with 17 steals. The Pioneers forced 34 turnovers and converted them to 33 points.
Dawson received 27 points from Alexius Foster. Sarah Miranda had 11 points and eight rebounds.
MCC, one of two undefeated NJCAA teams remaining in the country, will close out the regular season on Sunday at home against United Tribes. Game time is 1 p.m.
