DILLON — No. 21 Rocky Mountain College fell to No. 3 Montana Western 59-55 Saturday night in a Frontier Conference women's basketball showdown.

The Bulldogs (21-2, 12-2) were never able to secure a lead larger than 10 points despite the Battlin' Bears' (16-10, 7-7) costly 19 turnovers.

Markaela Francis scored 13 points with nine rebounds and two steals to lead the Bears in all three categories. Kloie Thatcher provided 11 points. Alecia Chamberlin posted 10 points and eight rebounds.

Rocky struggled to contain the conference's scoring leader, Brianna King, who scored 25 points on 9 of 18 shooting.

The Bears will return home for a game against the University of Providence on Thursday.
