BILLINGS — Designated hitter Dann Blanchard doubled twice and drove in two runs Saturday as the Billings Royals downed the Missoula Mavericks 4-2 in American Legion baseball at Dehler Park.

Blanchard batted 3 for 4 to help highlight the Royals' 12-hit attack. Teammates Michael Morehead, Noah Aufdengarten and Jaeden Jordahl added two hits apiece.

Pitchers Brenden Concepcion and Hayden Yarbrough combined to throw a four-hitter in the seven-inning contest. They had eight strikeouts, with Yarbrough tossing three innings of hitless relief.

Bridger Johnson had two hits for the Mavericks. Stewart Long doubled.

Earlier in the day, the Royals lost to the Rapid City Post 22 Hardhats 5-0.

Pitchers Dylan Richey and Tad Scherbenske combined on a four-hitter for the South Dakota squad. Richey had nine strikeouts.

Matt Hegre batted 4 for 4 and Bransen Kuehl had a home run and three RBIs.

Rapid City scored four times in the sixth inning.

Chase Hinckley, Nick Eliason, Ethan Opp and Brendan Miller had the hits for the Royals.
