BILLINGS — Billings’ American Legion Baseball rivals — the Royals and Scarlets — will meet for the second time this season Friday at Dehler Park for the ninth annual Legion Against Cancer night. First pitch is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
The event will benefit the Billings Clinic Foundation’s Kelker’s Kids and Piggy Bank funds, which help families of children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses or diseases.
BALB’s Class A feeder teams — the Blue Jays and Cardinals — will play at 4. At 6, local band Arterial Drive will perform. A ceremony honoring those affected by cancer will begin at 7.
Raffle tickets, balloons and T-shirts will be available. Raffle prizes include a trip to Chicago for a Rolling Stones concert and a Cubs game, as well as a hot tub, a sapphire pendant, tickets to a Mumford & Sons concert in Missoula, an iPad, and an iPhone XR.
Players will wear special jerseys with the names of Billings Clinic pediatric patients on the back.
The Royals (5-3, 1-0) won the first meeting against the Scarlets (5-3, 0-1) by a 6-1 score on May 24 at Pirtz Field.
