BOZEMAN — Montana State golf coach Brittany Basye announced Wednesday that Bozeman High standout and reigning State AA champion Annika Danenhauer has signed to join the Bobcats ahead of the 2019-20 season.
Danenhauer shot a 154 over two rounds to win the Class AA title last fall at the Butte Country Club. Danenhauer helped pace the Hawks to a total of 647 shots to capture the team title by 42 strokes.
Danenhauer was consistent during the entire 2018 fall season at Bozeman, finishing no lower than fifth at any tournament while earning two runner-up and three consecutive individual medalist showings ahead of the state championship meet.
Danenhauer was a part of three state championship teams for the Hawks and was an impact performer each season. She earned runner-up finishes at the State AA tournament two straight years before a breakout senior campaign.
"I think it's good to have another local kid on the team," Basye said. "Annika is a hard worker, she's a great student and she wants to succeed, and I think that adds to what our team is all about. I think she can do really well for us."
