BOZEMAN — Portland State opened a 13-point first quarter lead and went on to defeat Montana State 68-55 Saturday in Big Sky Conference women's basketball.

The two teams meet again on Tuesday in the first round of the Big Sky Tournament in Boise, Idaho.

Gabby Mocchi and Blaire Braxton each had 11 points for the Bobcats (16-14, 11-9). MSU was without Martha Kuderer, who missed the game because of an illness.

Ashley Bolston led Portland State (22-7, 14-6) with 16 points, while Courtney West had a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds.
