The Montana men's tennis team's season came to an end Thursday when the Griz dropped a 4-2 decision to Portland State at the Big Sky Conference tournament in Phoenix.
Portland State won the doubles point by taking two of three matches, then scored wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles to grab a 3-0 lead. Ed Pudney kept the Griz alive with a straight-sets win at No. 4 and Pontus Hallgren cut the gap to 3-2 with a hard-fought win at No. 6. But PSU's Tommy Edwards ended the match with a 7-5, 2-6, 6-4 win over Ludvig Hallgren at No. 3.
Montana finished its season with a record of 8-14.
