GLENDIVE — Dawson Community College softball coach Jim LeProwse reached the 200 career win mark on March 22, when the Buccaneers beat Gogebic CC 18-5.
"It was sure a joy to share my 200th victory with this special group of players, and it is also a tribute to all of the great players who I have had the privilege to coach in my previous eight seasons at Dawson," LeProwse said in a press release. "I am very thankful to my fantastic assistant coaches, my awesome family, great friends and the unbelievable support from the Dawson Community College employees, and also the wonderful community of Glendive, Montana, who have supported my program throughout the years."
LeProwse has coached for nine seasons, all at DCC, and has averaged about 23 wins per season. He has been selected as the Mon-Dak Conference coach of the year six times and the NJCAA Region 13 coach of the year on five occasions. His teams have won six conference championships, four Region 13 titles and one Region 9 crown.
The Buccaneers have won six straight games since LeProwse's 200th, and their record was 22-2 going into Saturday.
