WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Former Carroll College football coach Mike Van Diest along with ex-Carroll and Rocky Mountain College athletic director Bruce Parker were honored Saturday for their impending induction in the NAIA Hall of Fame.
The ceremony took place during the organization's 77th annual convention.
Van Diest coached at Carroll for 20 years and retired after last season with a 203-54 record. He guided the Saints to 14 postseason appearances, including six national championships.
Carroll won 14 Frontier Conference titles under Van Diest's watch, including 12 in a row from 2000-11. His 39 postseason wins are an NAIA record.
Parker spent 15 years as an NAIA AD, 12 at Carroll and the three at Rocky in his native Billings. He was the Frontier Conference Athletic Director of the Year eight times.
Parker oversaw the renovation of Herb Klindt Field at Rocky and also was instrumental in bringing the NAIA national women's basketball tournament to the Magic City. He was honored for "Meritorious Service".
