HAVRE — With just seven players suited up, the No. 2 Carroll College men's basketball team fell to Montana State-Northern on Saturday 82-71 in a Frontier Conference game.

The Saints (20-4, 9-3) were without starters Matt Wyman and Match Burnham. Wyman suffered a knee injury on Friday, the extent of which is still unknown. Burnham sat out after accumulating two technical fouls on Friday.

With the two seniors out, about 50 percent of the Saints scoring was absent.

Carroll started Jovan Sljivancanin and Thomas Austefjord in their places.

Four Saints finished in double figures scoring, led by Dane Warp’s 19 points as he played in front of friends and family in his hometown. Ife Kalejaiye added 18 while Shamrock Campbell and Eetu Villa each had 10.

The Saints built a 12-point lead with 6:39 left in the first half, but Northern eventually took control.

The Lights pushed the tempo and fired away from the 3-point line, hitting 15 of 32 3-pointers on Saturday. The majority of Northern’s shots came from deep.

Justin Dunsmore led the Lights with 20 points.
