Bigfork - Jaime Berg

Bigfork senior Jaime Berg will continue her basketball career with Montana Tech next fall.

BUTTE — Bigfork basketball star Jaime Berg will play for Montana Tech's women's basketball team next fall as the 6-foot-1 post signed an NAIA Letter of Intent with the Orediggers.

“We are excited to add Jaime to our basketball program,” Tech head coach Carly Sanon said. “She adds size and strength to our team. She can score with her back to the basket and can shoot from the outside.”

Berg played all four years on the Valkyrie's varsity squad, which is headed to the State B Tournament in Missoula this weekend as the No. 1 Western seed. She averaged 16.8 points and 8.5 rebounds her senior season. She scored a season-high 30 points in a game earlier this season and had a high of 15 rebounds.

On defense, Berg averaged 2.3 steals and 2.4 blocks per game. As a junior, she was selected as a Second Team All-Conference member.

Berg will play in the Treasure State All-Star Classic on March 15-17 at Montana State University Billings. In the all-star event last year she notched a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

She played in the all-star event last year scoring 16 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Berg also won the three-point contest after her junior season.

A multi-sport athlete, Berg was also a four-year varsity volleyball player earning honorable mention All-Conference accolades as a junior and being named First Team All-Conference as a senior.

Berg is a member of the National Honor Society and intends to pursue a degree in Petroleum Engineering after receiving the Whiting Petroleum Scholarship.
