BILLINGS — Two nights after suffering its worse loss of the season, Rocky Mountain College rebounded with its most efficient win, dismantling Montana Tech 88-55 Saturday night at the Fortin Center.
The Battlin' Bears (13-7, 4-4) host Montana Western and Lewis-Clark State this week.
Rocky led 41-22 at halftime, shooting 69 percent (18 of 26) from the field. The Battlin' Bears defense limited the Orediggers (13-7, 3-5) to 22 percent shooting in the first half and 30 percent for the game.
Rocky scored 24 points off Montana Tech turnovers and outscored the Orediggers 40-10 in the paint.
Satchel McDonald came off the bench to score a game-high 17 points for the Battlin' Bears on 7 of 7 shooting from the field and two free throws. He also had four assists.
Austin Payne added 14 points, Jared Samuelson 12 and Grant Wallace 10. Payne also had a game-high seven rebounds while Craig Wilmore had four steals.
No Rocky player logged more than 23 minutes of game time.
Carson Dummer paced the Orediggers with 10 points.
