KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Montana State-Northern and the University of Providence wrestling teams each qualified seven wrestlers for the 62nd annual NAIA Wrestling National Championships March 1-2 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Qualifying for the No. 9 Lights are: Nick Kunz, 125 pounds, Helena; Matt Weber, 141, Forsyth; Brandon Weber, 157, Forsyth; Andrew Bartel, 165, Mason City, Iowa; Chase Short, 174, Great Falls; Isaac Bartel, 197, Mason City, Iowa and Jase Stokes, 285, Havre.
Advancing for the No. 10 Argos are: TJ Baun, 141, Colville, Washington; Shonn Roberts, 149, Columbia Falls; Casey Dobson, 157, Great Falls; Adrian Lyons-Lopez, 165, Albany, Oregon; John Hensley, 197, Boise, Idaho; Matt Hopkins, 285, Maple Valley, Washington and Justin Harbison, 285, Missoula.
Two Dickinson State wrestlers will be participating at nationals. Gresh Jones of Sidney qualified for the Blue Hawks at 133 pounds and teammate Taner Stone of Choteau advanced at 157.
Drake Randall, a two-time national qualifier for MSUN in 2016 and 2017, qualified out of Eastern Oregon at 165 pounds. The Mountaineers, tied for 18th in the NAIA rankings, are coached by Poplar native Dustyn Azure. The Mountaineers qualified five wrestlers for nationals.
