GREAT FALLS — Providence rallied from a first-quarter deficit to hand Rocky Mountain College its first loss of the season, 60-52, in Frontier Conference women's basketball.
The Battlin' Bears (7-1, 1-1) play at Montana State Billings this Friday.
Mikayla Jones led Rocky with 20 points, her second 20-point game of the weekend. Brooke Jones added nine points and eight rebounds.
The Battlin' Bears led 17-11 at the end of the first quarter.
"We got cold," said Rocky coach Wes Keller. "Offensively we were kind of stagnant. We came out and played well in the first quarter and I thought we had a chance to stretch our lead even more but had a few misses and some turnovers.
"Give them (Providence) credit, they made shots when they needed to"
Rocky shot just 27 percent (15 of 56) from the field for the game. The Battlin' Bears were 5 of 23 (22 percent) from the field in the second half.
Stephanie McDonagh led the Argos with 22 points, while Parker Esary had 12 points and 14 rebounds.
