GREAT FALLS — Browning standout Tyree Whitcomb has signed to play basketball at the University of Providence, Argos coach Steve Keller announced Tuesday.
Whitcomb, a 6-foot-7 forward, averaged 17 points and 11 rebounds per game last season as a senior at Browning. He led the Northwest A division in assists, rebounds and steals. He was named first-team all-conference and was an all-state selection.
As a junior and senior, Whitcomb helped the Indians reach the Class A state tournament in consecutive seasons.
On Wednesday, Keller announced the addition of Chinook guard Isaac Bell.
Bell, a 6-5 guard, earned All-Conference and All-State designations, averaging 11.8 points and 4.2 rebounds per contest to help the Sugarbeeters reach the state tournament. As a junior, Bell scored a career-high 51 points in a game.
