ST. GEORGE, Utah — Tyson Fisher hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning as No. 20 Dixie State University dealt Montana State University Billings a 10-8 setback in college baseball on Sunday.
With the win, Dixie State (10-2) swept a four-game series from the Yellowjackets (0-8).
MSUB pushed across six runs in the seventh inning for an 8-5 lead. Dixie State responded with two runs in the eighth before Fisher hit his second home run of the season in the ninth.
Conner Linebarger, Jalen Garcia and Chris Arpan each drove in two runs for MSUB.
Arpan fueled the seventh inning with a two-run double and Garcia hit a two-run base hit.
The Yellowjackets begin their 40-game Great Northwest Athletic Conference schedule with a trip to Monmouth, Oregon, to play Western Oregon. The two teams are scheduled for twin bills on Saturday and Sunday.
