NAMPA, Idaho — The scores were identical as Montana State Billings split a doubleheader with Northwest Nazarene in GNAC baseball on Saturday.
The Nighthawks won the first game 16-9 while MSUB rallied from a 9-0 deficit to take the second game 16-9.
Landon Peterson hit a three-run home run for the Yellowjackets in the sixth inning of the nightcap. He finished with five RBIs in the second game.
In the first game, the senior catcher became the MSUB all-time leader for runners thrown out with his 19.
Matt Dillon added two more home runs for the Yellowjackets and Chris Arpan had his second of the year.
On Friday, Daniel Cipriano homered twice, Conner Linebarger matched the school record for hits in a game and Dylan Barkley earned his first victory as the MSUB swept NNU.
The Yellowjackets won 13-6 and 4-1.
MSUB had five home runs in the opener.
Linebarger was 5 for 5 in the first game, becoming the 11th Yellowjacket to match the single-game record for hits in a single game. He was hit by a pitch in the ninth inning.
Barkley struck out eight and allowed two walks. He allowed just four hits across six innings.
