MONMOUTH, Ore. — Rylee Kane sparked a 7-0 run to start the fourth quarter to help Montana State Billings defeat Western Oregon 65-56 in Great Northwest Athletic Conference women’s basketball.
The Yellowjackets (13-6, 6-3) play at Concordia in Portland, Oregon, on Saturday.
Alisha Breen of MSUB led all scorers with 19 points. Making eight of 10 free throws, the senior from Choteau has made a nation-best 112 free throws for the season.
Kane had two baskets and an assist to start the Yellowjackets in the final quarter. She finished with 16 points and seven rebounds.
Taylor Cunningham added 12 points and nine rebounds, both career highs, for the Yellowjackets. Lexi Prevost finished with nine points, five steals and two blocked shots.
Natalie DeLonge led WOU (8-8, 4-6) with 16 points, while Sydney Azorr had 11 rebounds.
MSUB has won five in a row, nine of the last 11 and 14 of the last 16 against the Wolves dating back to 2010.
