BILLINGS — With six of its final eight games at home, the Montana State Billings women's basketball team is making a push to qualify for the GNAC Tournament.
The Yellowjackets (9-9, 5-7) host Alaska Fairbanks (3-16, 0-13) on Thursday and No. 10 Alaska Anchorage (20-1, 12-1) on Saturday at Alterowitz Gymnasium. Both games will begin at 7 p.m.
MSUB is tied with Concordia University for seventh place in the GNAC standings. The top six qualify for the postseason tournament.
Sophomore guard Hannah Collins is averaging a GNAC-best 16.1 points a game.
This season marks the 20th anniversary of MSUB's 1999 team that became the first in program history to advance to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight. The team, which finished 25-6, won the PacWest Conference title and the West Region title with a 70-62 victory over host UC Davis.
The team will be recognized at Saturday's game.
