BILLINGS — Montana State University Billings outfielder Jalen Garcia has been selected to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association preseason All-American team, the NCBWA announced on Tuesday.

The senior is the third MSUB baseball player to earn the All-American preseason honor in the last four years — the other two were Adam Cox (2017) and Luke Reinschmidt (2016). Garcia also received an NCBWA preseason all-region selection, along with teammates Steen Fredrickson and Conner Linebarger.

Garcia, a Billings Christian graduate, finished his junior season with a .351 batting average, .403 on-base percentage, .653 slugging percentage, nine home runs, 20 doubles, seven triples, 71 hits and an MSUB-record 25 stolen bases. He made the all-Great Northwest Athletic Conference first team and NCBWA second team, and the American Baseball Coaches Association picked him as an all-region outfielder.
