PORTLAND, Ore. — Brendan Howard of Montana State Billings was selected the Freshman of the Year for men's basketball in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.
Howard was one of three Yellowjackets to earn all-league honors. Tyler Green was a second team pick while Zack Rollins was an honorable mention selection a second straight year. Howard also earned honorable mention honors.
Howard, a 6-6 forward, averaged 15.6 points and 5.1 rebounds a game this season. He led MSUB in scoring and free throws made. Howard came to the Yellowjackets after starting his career at Eastern Washington.
Green, a junior guard from Redding, California, averaged 15.5 points with a GNAC best 93 3-pointers. Green also had 102 assists and 75 rebounds. His 93 3-points are 13th-most for a single season.
Rollins, a senior forward from Pelham, New York, averaged 14 points, starting all 28 games. He made 67 3-pointers this season. Rollins has 158 3-pointers in two seasons, ranking 10th all-time for MSUB.
Adonis Arms of Northwest Nazarene was chosen the Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year after averaging 20.9 points a game and leading the Nighthawks to their best season in program history.
Alex Pribble of Saint Martin's was chosen the GNAC Coach of the Year. The Saints' Jordan Kitchen was the league's defensive player of the year.
