Troy Andersen of Dillon and Dani Urick of Belt are the Phillips 66 Billings Refinery 406mtsports.com Athletes of the Month for March after leading their schools to state basketball championships.
Andersen, who has committed to play football at Montana State, scored nine points and had nine rebounds as Dillon defeated Billings Central 59-45 to finish 24-0 and win the Class A boys basketball tournament in Butte. It was the third consecutive state title for the Beavers with Andersen as a key cog, following on the heels of a football crown in November and track championship in May.
Andersen has the top time in the state in the 100 meters already this spring.
Urick, a junior, scored 23 points in a 62-33 rout of Arlee for Belt's fifth state championship in six years. She led the Huskies to a 26-1 record, the only defeat coming in the opener against Class B power Malta.
Urick also led Belt to undefeated volleyball season.
