Helena High boys basketball players allegedly had personal items with an estimated value of more than $200 stolen out of their locker room during their basketball game Thursday night at Missoula Hellgate High.
The suspects apprehended were minors. The value of the items allegedly stolen were $200 in cash and a couple of earbuds, according to Hellgate school resource officer Jim Johnson.
The students suspected of stealing the items were apprehended after Hellgate school security officials reviewed security tapes, and were spotted by Hellgate security officers at the game.
According to Johnson, Hellgate High, has had incidents of theft in the past, but this was the first documented incident of theft at a game for the 2018-2019 school year, Johnson said.
Johnson said the two students who allegedly stole the items are being disciplined.
This is a developing story.
