BILLINGS — Fresh off leading Helena High to its third consecutive State AA championship, Jamie Pickens on Tuesday was named the 2018-19 All-USA Montana girls basketball player of the year by USA Today High School Sports.

Pickens, who is also a two-time Montana Gatorade player off the year, averaged 19 points and 12 rebounds per game last season. She has committed to play collegiately for the University of Montana.

Pickens’ coach, Eric Peterson, was named USA Today’s girls coach of the year. Helena defeated Billings West for the 2019 AA title.

Joining Pickens on the All-USA Montana first team are Havre’s Kyndall Keller, Missoula Hellgate’s Emma Blakely, Wolf Point’s Imani Bighorn and Helena Capital’s Sydney Sheridan.

The second team is made up of Missoula Sentinel’s Lexi Deden, Townsend’s Tavia Rooney, Columbia Falls’ Ryley Kehr, Wolf Point’s Mya Fourstar and Hellgate’s Kylie Lunday.
