The Bozeman boys and girls cross country teams look to continue their unbelievable team title streaks this season.

Bozeman’s girls have won 10 straight state championships while the boys have won nine in a row in Class AA.

On the boys side of the AA, Chase Equall was the state champion last year for Bozeman and has since graduated and is now running at the University of Washington. Duncan Hamilton finished in second place overall for the Hawks, and he will be back for his final season.

Billings Senior’s Tiahna Vladic, a junior, is back after becoming the AA individual champion last year as a sophomore. Runner-up Camila Noe of Bozeman, a senior, is also back as well as is Kalispell Glacier senior Annie Hill, who was the individual champion in 2014 and 2015.

On the Class A side, the Frenchtown boys and Hardin girls are looking to defend their team titles. Columbia Falls’ Kimberly Peacock finished up in second overall at state last year as a freshman behind Belgrade graduate Pipi Eitel, who is now running for Northern Arizona.

Manhattan has won two of the last three girls Class B state titles, while Townsend looks to defend on the boys side of things. Bigfork’s Bryn Morley and Anya Young finished in first and second respectively in the girls state meet, and both are back with Morley now a senior and Young a junior. Manhattan’s Hannah Madsen, who finished in third last year, is also back to help her team defend their title.

Winnett-Melstone is the two-time defending Class C champions on the girls side while Manhattan Christian won the boys title. Darby’s Gracie Lang won the state meet as a freshman last season and is now back. Third-place finisher Laiten Lantis of Terry, who was a freshman last season, is also back. Hays-Lodgepole’s Isiah Runsabove, a senior, returns after taking second place last season.
