Not many changes occurred in this week's 406mtsports.com high school football rankings, but a new No. 1 did emerge from the pack.
Fairfield (7-0) is now the top-ranked team in Class B. The Eagles soundly defeated Conrad 47-0 on Friday night. Fairfield replaces Bigfork (6-1) which lost to Missoula Loyola 26-21. Roundup (7-0) moves up one spot to No. 2 while Loyola (7-1) jumps two spots to No. 3. The Vikings fall to No. 4. Colstrip (7-1) moves up one spot to No. 5 after topping Big Timber 21-20. The Herders (6-1) fall two places from No. 4 to No. 6. Nos. 7-10 in Class B all stay the same.
No changes were made to the Class AA or A rankings this week as every team ranked won. Bozeman (8-0) and Hamilton (8-0) continue to lead their respective classifications.
Drummond-Philipsburg (8-0) is still the top team in 8-Man with Shelby (7-0) and Fairview (8-0) staying put at Nos. 2 and 3. Joliet (8-0) moves up one spot to No. 4 and Hobson-Moore-Judith Gap (7-1) jumps two ranks to No. 5 while Great Falls Central (7-1) drops two places to No. 6 after losing 34-0 to Shelby. Charlo (6-2) had to forfeit its game against Darby so the Vikings fall one place to No. 7. Culbertson (7-1) swaps places with Circle (6-2) at No. 8. The Wildcats fall to No. 10 after losing to the Cowboys 28-18. Alberton-Superior (6-2) stays put at No. 9.
The top three teams in 6-Man stayed the same led by Wibaux (7-0). Hot Springs (8-1) and West Yellowstone (7-1) each rise one place to Nos. 4 and 5 respectively while Richey-Lambert (6-2) drops two spots to No. 6 after losing to Wibaux 56-16. Roy-Winifred (8-0) makes its season debut at No. 8 on the rankings after beating Bridger 42-37. The Scouts fall off of this week's list.
