KALISPELL — Missoula Sentinel finally opened its track and field season on Tuesday, heading north to battle with Kalispell Glacier in a dual meet.
The Sentinel boys defeated Glacier 95-50 while the Wolfpack girls beat the Spartans 87-58. Many athletes started the season with a bang. Sentinel senior Ashley McElmurry, a Nebraska commit, won the 200 and the long jump. Teammate Neil Daily opened with a pair of wins in the 100 and high jump, while Brandon Spencer scored victories in the shot put and discus.
Glacier's Drew Deck won the 110 and 300 hurdles as well as the long jump to lead all competitors with three individual wins. Nash Grafe added a pair of victories in the 800 and 1,600 for the Wolfpack, while Mya Mcneely added wins in the shot put and discus for the Glacier girls.
