BOZEMAN — Helena Capital's Seth Jensen and Isaac Romero, and Austin Murphy of Helena High went unbeaten on Friday to advance to the semifinals of the LeProwse Invitational Wrestling Tournament.

Jensen and Romero, both juniors, won the LeProwse tourney last season in their respective weight classes. They also both pinned all three of their opponents during the first day of action in the 30-team event.

Butte and Bozeman lead the team standings with 106 and 102 points, respectively. Capital is tied for eighth place at 76 points, while Helena is 17th with 50.

Romero reached Saturday's semis in the 113-pound division by beating each of his foes in the first period, including a pin of Keith Pretty Weasel (Hardin) in 1:15 in the quarterfinals. He improved his record to 19-1 with 11 pins.

Jensen, grappling at 205, moved his mark to 19-3, and now owns 13 pins on the year. His day culminated with a 3:56 pin of Grayson Mandic (Butte) in the quarters to make the semifinals.

Murphy posted a decision and a pair of staples for his three victories. In the quarters, Murphy pinned Cache Hilliard (Great Falls) in 1:47.

The Bruins have three other matmen alive in the wrestlebacks, consisting of Travis Schulte at 145, Noah Kovick at 138, and Chance Lee at 170. There is one Bengals wrestler competing in the wrestlebacks in Devin Crawford at 138, who will meet crosstown's Kovick in the consolation round Saturday morning.
