Blaine Buchanan of Huntley Project flexes after winning the Class B-C state title in the 205-pound weight class at the state wrestling tournament at Rimrock Auto Arena at MetraPark in Billings Saturday.

BILLINGS -- Rebecca Stroh, a 103-pound freshman from Chinook, made history at least twice at this year's tournament. On Friday she participated in the State Wrestling Tournament's first all-female match, which she won by pin. And then on Saturday, she became the first girl to make all-state in the Class B/C division, with a sixth-place medal.

Stroh actually attained her award with a pin to stay alive in the consolation's first round, and a 5-1 decision in the Blood Round, over yet another female, Jefferson High's Emma Brown.

"Placing at state has been my goal my whole life, after watching my brothers get seven state championships (Ben Stroh had four, Robert had three)," Stroh said. "It was just so amazing to be up there."

So what's her next goal?

"To get higher up on the podium ... hopefully first," she said with a grin.
