The Missoula Lady Bruins won a pair of games Saturday to advance to Sunday's championship of the Flathead Winter Classic high school hockey tournament.

Missoula beat Piikani 4-1 and Bozeman 8-1.

Missoula beat Piikani in the early game with goals from Dora McDougall, Shaye Ewing, Andi Carnes and Madeleine Heggen. Missoula goalie Aubrey McKay had 12 saves. The Lady Bruins had 58 shots on goal, but Piikani goalie Kayla Snow had 54 saves. Senior Hanna Huang and freshman Shaye Ewing earned player of the game honors.

Ewing, a freshman at Missoula Sentinel, scored a hat trick against Bozeman, and junior Jaden Nielsen scored two goals to lift Missoula over Bozeman. Other Missoula goals came from Andi Carnes, Sid Triepke, Pilar Seielstad and Dora McDougall. Oriana Barber-Castro, a former Flathead goalie suiting up for Bozeman, had 38 saves in the net for the Ice Dogs. Missoula keeper Natalie Herr had eight saves on the day. Ewing and Seielstad, a freshman from Big Sky, earned player of the game honors.

Missoula improved to 7-2-1 and advanced to the title game Sunday at 11 a.m. against either Flathead or Piikani.
