OKLAHOMA CITY — Jess Lockwood extended his lead in the Professional Bull Riders world standings on Saturday night with a third-place finish at the PBR Unleash The Beast Express Ranches Invitational.
In the championship round, Lockwood scored 89.5 points. He earned 290 world standings points and $14,211. He is now 967 points in front of No. 2 ranked Joao Ricardo Vieira. Vieira finished ninth and earned 45 points.
In the opening round on Friday, Lockwood finished in third place with 86 points.
Oklahoma cowboy Ryan Dirteater scored 91 points in the championship round and won the invite for the second consecutive year.
Dirteater earned 600 points and $39,361. He catapulted from No. 21 in the world to No. 5 with the win.
Browning's Dakota Louis was in the field, but did not register a score and failed to place.
