BILLINGS — The Billings Mustangs and Idaho Falls Chukars had the first game of their four-game series suspended Thursday night due to rain in the bottom of the first inning.
With the score tied at 0-0, the Mustangs had two runners on with no outs when play was halted at Dehler Park.
Billings (31-30) and Idaho Falls (28-32) will play a doubleheader Friday evening beginning at 5:05 p.m.
Game one will be the continuation of Thursday's game which will be completed as a nine-inning contest. Game two will begin 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one and will be played as a seven-inning contest.
The Mustangs are leading the second-half standings in the Pioneer League North with a 16-7 record. The Chukars are nine games back at 7-16.
On Sunday, St. Vincent's Children will be sponsoring the fifth annual Mustangs Mega Candy Drop immediately after the 1:05 p.m. game.
The St. Vincent HELP Flight helicopter, Mustangs ground crew and mascot Homer Mustang will spread 1,000 pounds of candy in the outfield for kids to collect.
Prior to the Mega Candy Drop, St. Vincent Healthcare will also be the recipient of significant gifts from two local businesses. Sibanye Stillwater will be presenting St. Vincent HELP Flight with a $35,500 gift and DOWL will be presenting St. Vincent Children’s PICU and pediatric program with a $20,000 gift.
