MISSOULA — The Missoula AA Mavericks swept the Glacier Twins with a pair of 10-0 victories on Saturday in Missoula.
In the opening game, Missoula's bats came alive right away as the Mavericks grabbed a 7-0 lead by the end of the third inning. Dylan Chalmers picked up the win on the mound, pitching a complete-game shutout and allowing only two hits and two walks while striking out five.
Tradd Richardson racked up three hits, including a double, and drove in three runs in the win for Missoula. Drew Stensrud went 2 for 4 with a double and three RBIs as well. Glacier had seven errors in the first game.
In the second game, Missoula started out with a 2-0 lead after the first inning but didn't score again until the fourth. From the fourth through the sixth inning, the Mavs racked up eight more runs to make it a clean sweep on the day.
Zach Hangas went the distance for Missoula in the second game, pitching six innings and allowing six hits while striking out eight. Richardson drove in two more runs for Missoula, while Stewart Long also drove in two runs.
