MISSOULA — Two days after Nate Dick announced he was leaving the Montana football program, three of his fellow teammates have also left the team.
Junior cornerback Markell Sanders, freshman safety Isiahia Banks and freshman linebacker Kendall Sweet are no longer with Montana football, according to a tweet from Montana football's sports information director Eric Taber.
"We wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors," Taber wrote.
Sanders, out of Renton, Washington, was with Montana for three seasons after transferring from Washington State. He was the 12th leading tackler and would have been the seventh-leading returning tackler for the Griz. He had 28 take downs last season with 1½ tackles for loss, one interception, five passes defended and four pass breakups.
He started 21 games in his career at Montana. It is unknown at this time why Sanders left the program.
Banks, out of Aurora, Colorado, took his redshirt during the 2017 season. Sweet, out of Tulsa, Oklahoma, also took his redshirt during the 2017 season.
It is also unknown at this time why Banks and Sweet left the program.
