BILLINGS — Dawson Community College will host the NJCAA Region XIII Division II softball tournament for the first time in school history, DCC announced on Friday.
The six-team double elimination tournament will be played from May 3-5 at BL Baker Memorial Field. With the regular season yet to be concluded, the seeds for the tournament have yet to be determined. The Region XIII champion will host the district championship on May 15-16, and the district title winner will advance to the national tourney a week later.
In addition to the Buccaneers, the Region XIII tournament will feature Williston (North Dakota) State College, Lake Region State College (of Devils Lake, North Dakota), Gogebic Community College (Ironwood, Michigan), Bay College (Escanaba, Michigan) and Dakota County Technical College (Rosemount, Minnesota).
DCC has a 37-3 overall record and has already broken the program record for most wins in a season. The Buccaneers won the Mon-Dak championship on Friday.
