SPOKANE, Wash. — Hailey Derrickson of Rocky Mountain College matched the program record for a low round and earned medalist honors at the Lilac Collegiate meet on Tuesday.

The Battlin' Bears women, ranked No. 9 nationally, won the event with a 604 while the men were fourth.

Derrickson opened with a 67, matching the program record set by Kyla Clancy during the 2014-15 season. The freshman from Austin, Texas closed with a 74 to have a two-day total of 141.

Teammate Claire Wright (142) was second. Wright and Derrickson were the only two women golfers to finish under par.

They were followed by Morgan O'Neil (10th, 157), Kaelyn Volk (19th, 167) and Kaitlyn Fleming (22nd, 174).

The Rocky men had a three-round total of 587. North Idaho Community College won with 574.

Haydn Driver (144) tied for fifth to pace the Battlin' Bears. He was followed by Mitchell Thiessen (8th, 146), Daniel Sigurjonsson (8th, 146), Chase Morerhouse (26th, 151) and Nolan Burzminski (57th, 175).
