BOZEMAN — High-scoring guards Sayer Patton of Choteau and Kyndall Keller of unbeaten Havre are the Athletes of the Month for January.

Patton, a senior and the state's leading scorer for boys at just under 30 points per game, averaged 27.6 points and 10 rebounds per game for the month. Until injuring an ankle against Fairfield on Jan. 25, in which he scored 30 points, Patton's lowest output of the season was 22 against Centerville where he played sparingly in a rout.

Patton has committed to play basketball for Carroll College next season.

Keller, a junior and two-time all-state standout, is the top scorer in Class A with a 17.9 average and has been the catalyst of a Havre team that has won 43 consecutive games.

The defending state champion Blue Ponies also are the top scoring team at 61.4 points per game while winning by an average margin of just under 25 points an outing.

Keller closed out the month Jan. 31 with a 31-point game against Rocky Boy.
