BOZEMAN — Record-setting swimmer Katharine Berkoff of Missoula Hellgate and three four-time state wrestling champions are the Athletes of the Month for February.

Jackson Currier of Colstrip, Michael Weber of Forsyth and Martin Wilkie of Havre each etched their names in Montana wrestling lore by going four-for-four at the state wrestling meet in Billings. Currier won at 138 pounds, Weber at 152 and Wilkie at 145, bringing the state's list of four-time winners to 35.

Berkoff, a senior who plans to swim at North Carolina State and has her sights set on the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, completed a decorated high school career by setting two more records at the state meet — in the 100 backstroke and 100 freestyle. In all, Berkoff won 16 individual state titles and never lost a race in four years.

Berkoff ranks 14th in the world in the 100 backstroke.

Wilkie, who will wrestle at Minnesota, won three of his matches at state in 46 seconds or less in completing a 45-0 season. In winning his title, Weber — a three-time national champion — became the third member of his family to win four crowns and gave the Webers 18 state titles overall. Despite battling an injury all season, Currier joined an uncle and a brother as four-time champions.
