The Missoula Lady Bruins lost to Anchorage, Alaska, 3-0 Saturday morning at the USA Hockey National Girls High School Championship Tournament at OBM Arena in Strongsville, Ohio.

Missoula hung with the Alaskan team throughout the game. Anchorage led 27-26 in shots. Missoula goalie Aubrey McKay had 20 saves; Anchorage goalie Kira Hewlett had 27 saves.

“I am proud of how our team competed this weekend, and we got a good sense of where we need to go to compete at this level,” said head coach Grace Hoene, who was assisted this season by Annie Petschauer. “It has been a long, but rewarding season for this group of girls, and now Missoula, Montana, is on the radar of USA Hockey. It’s been an honor to coach these extraordinary young women.”

The Lady Bruins finished the season with a 21-14-2 record.
