VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Canada — Poplar’s Hunter Azure won his Ultimate Fighting Championship debut on Saturday, earning a unanimous decision over Brad Katona at the Rogers Center.
According to UFC.com, the 27-year-old Azure won the bantamweight bout on the judge’s scorecards 29-28, 29-28, 30-27.

Azure, who trains out of Phoenix, improved his professional MMA record to 8-0. Katona is 9-2. The former winner from “Ultimate Fighter” has lost his last two matches.
Azure was a four-time Class B-C state champion at Poplar. He earned a contract from UFC in July through the Dana White Contender Series. Azure wrestled for Montana State-Northern.
